Temas de Investigación : - Cosmology, structure of space-time
- Relativistic Astrophysics (Black Hole Physics, accretion disks, star-black hole interactions)
- Epistemology (the invention of big bang, History of cosmology)
Jean-Pierre Luminet was the first to numerically visualize accretion disks around black holes, and co-discovered the phenomenon of " crêpe stellaire ", which causes the crushing of stars by the tidal forces of giant black holes.
