Professor of Information Technology
University of Portsmouth, UK.
Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS)
Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (FIEE)
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA)
Research Interests : Actively involved in research in Artificial Intelligence since the early 1970s. Leader of the University of Portsmouth's Artificial Intelligence Research Group.
Current research interests include data mining (in particular the automatic derivation of classification rules from examples), case-based reasoning, model-based approaches to diagnostic reasoning and methodologies for knowledge engineering.
Visiting Fellow for the EPSRC-funded project "Critical Systems and Data-Driven Technology", based at the University of Exeter.
